When Will it End?

by Jenni Marie   Sep 18, 2006

As soon as she awakes she is tense.
She feels that nothing in her life makes any sense.
And as she applies blusher to her cheeks
She knows that before the day is out that she will weep.

She arrives at school
to see the girls already there
Pointing and laughing at her
as they stand there and stare.

She walks along with her head held high
Even though inside she wants to break down and cry
She knows what these girls do to her isn't fair
and as she walks past them
she can feel them spit in her hair.

She blocks out their voices as they call her names
and wishes they'd stop playing these stupid games.
She feels a tear ready to roll down her cheek
and blinks it back, not letting them see her be weak.

As the day slowly slips by
she hides alone to sit down and cry
Another day, another name
and yet more hidden pain.

She's not sure how much more she can endure
How much longer she can keep the pain hidden and off show.
And as she makes her way home
she's never felt more alone.

She sits in her room and cries
At times wishing she'd die.
Inside she is broken, a swirling, catastrophic mess of emotion.

This has gone on for so long
She hasn't told anybody even though she knows what these girls do is so wrong
Instead she waits for it to end
and remembers the time she used to call these girls her best friends.

*This never happened to me, the poem just came to me a night or so ago.*
