More Than Existed

by Jemma   Sep 24, 2006

We are masters in our art
A whole world schooled in deception
Perfecting lies
Perfecting a failed ideal
Pretend that you're happy
In today's world no one knows the difference

And they in foolish thoughts
Dwell upon and doubt the existence of everything
Even themselves
And we are cradles in our delusions
Always someone to spring up with distrust

No one knows the purpose
The reason we're here to live
That does not mean there isn't one
You don't need to know something to believe it
But we who we who reside in dreams do not see

It is strange how those that strive to be happy
And to have a lovely fulfilled life
Are the ones who are yet to anything to achieve it
It is stupid to ignore the disintegration
We used to care

When you walk down the street you see the children
They're all being held so tight by parents with stern faces
Nowhere left to play
Roads are everywhere, leading nowhere
And nowhere is safe

I seem to recall
That I dreamt a future
Where we more than existed
