So Close, yet out of my Reach

I close my eyes when night falls,
Slipping away to unconsciousness.
There I find your arms holding me,
Myself, gluttonously drinking you up.

You scent reviving my spirit,
resurrecting my soul from the dead.
encasing me inside your warmth,
while cloaking me in unshakable safety.
I become wrapped up, intoxicated by you,
Aroused and excited with lustful love.

Arriving in a fragrant world
where fantasy and reality colloid.
It unleashes my recklessness
and unbridles my sensual desires,
Once living and breathing for your sight,
Now feasting upon your presence.

Timid and shy are far and forgotten,
As our bodies melt together,
And we explore the new parts of ourselves.
I lie with you in complete bliss,
Unshakably, unchangeably content,
And yet so much more than human tongue
Is allow and enabled to describe.

A then there is a noise in the shadow,
And I am thrust back into consciousness,
Shattering my ancient memories and
Returning me to lonely reality.

    Oh my goodness.
    I logged onto this poem and looked at the long words and nearly cried..
    But then I started reading and they were so perfect for the poem, they made the imagery so much better, and some of them are just, well, beautiful

    "There I find your arms holding me,
    Myself, gluttonously drinking you up"

    Those two lines were amazing, I am so glad you put "gluttonously" in your poem, that is a GREAT word..

    One nitpick..
    "rapped" I think you missed out the W on this one..

    But that made no difference to the write..
    Well done, incredibly creative.

    Awww man ! Whom ever gave you a 3 on this poem is out of their freakin-mind .
    There were so many unique lines in this poem, ones unlike anything I have ever seen before .
    ****************************

    Amazingly crafted lines .
    The ending was so sad and fit perfectly with the title .
