Chaotic Silence of My Soul

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Oct 1, 2006

The wind's angry whispers penetrate my mind.
Furious, it tries to make sense of my thoughts.
Rain pours onto my bedroom window,
Pounding the chaotic silence of my soul.

Trees wave their arms, alerting me of the danger.
A stranger from the scene, I watch from afar.
The scenes of my life seem to flood the glass,
As I watch it all from a safe distance, removed.

The reflection shows a girl trying to tame the disorder.
Her hair's pulled back from her face, no longer trying.
Her face, bare of makeup, echoes her lack of energy.
Outside, the wind rages on; in her soul.

The wind's bitterness persists, raging in my soul.
Trees continue their rythmic dance, writing on the wall.*
Rain pours onto my bedroom window,
Pounding the chaotic silence of my soul.

*writing on the wall: a warning.

I liked your choice of words and they gave lots of pictures to reader. I also liked that you took the first stanza and used that one to end the poem - good effect.

"Outside, the wind rages on; in her soul." - Nicely written.

I can't think of any critisism to give so just keep up the good work.
