Present Thoughts of Past Times

by Laura   Oct 4, 2006

All I ever wanted was to be considered the best of friends
Instead using each other differently as a means to an ends
I honestly miss your genuine camaraderie
Feeling as though I have lost a small part of me

When I am reminiscing about the good old days
When we used to unwind smoking big fat J's
Evenings of debates spent analyzing our lives
Those were the days when it was all good vibes

There was never a time when you needed to pretend
I had always thought that you would be a close friend
From my first impression I thought that you were one of a kind
What held you back from being honest and speaking your mind?

I love the idea and i can feel the emotion. but some of the rhyming seems forced. but i think candamerie, me. also the flow is sort of awkward because some lines are much longer or shorter that the ones around it to account for the rhyme. but nice job! i definetly enjoyed it.

Dang!!! Girl, I must say you took
me back thru my childhood buddys
and remembered my best friend Kelly,
whom I have known since grade school
and has been my flying partner since
we were in the fifth grade. We have not
been out to the flying field in about two
years now and thanks to you its time for
that phone call. Thank you for sharing
