Our Secret Place

by Bradley Peter   Oct 5, 2006

Days spent in the summer
We'd just lay in the grass
Listening to the sounds of nature
Watching the clouds pass

We'd lay together for hours
With the sun-rays on our faces
Then we'd fall fast asleep
Dreaming of magical places

If the sun ever got too hot
We'd hide under the shade
The only tree for miles
As if just for us it was made

It was our secret place
Free from homework and chores
A place that we could go
That was only mine and yours

Each day was a dream
And just as magical as the last
Time seemed to stand still
As the world just whizzed on past

Every summer after that
I sat at the tree and cried
Only two days back at school
You were in a crash and died
