Black and Red

by Macabre   Oct 13, 2006

Loving, romantic,
yet cold as ice outside,
you tremble with fear, as your eyes meet mine.
You can't stand to wonder,
how I can be this way,
I tell you to leave,
but you refuse and stay.

You ask me why I'm like this,
so dark on the outside,
you ask me why I'm like this,
so closed up and confined,
you ask me why I'm like this,
and I really do not know,
a red rose with black thorns,
and a heart that burns like the devil's horns.

I stand out in the crowd, noticeable at every angle,
a black and red portrait, serene yet confused and jumbled...

You think of your blood, deep dark and red,
well mine's black as night, spin that one through your head.
I don't know why I'm so different,
Why I have to be this way,
I want to be equal, but the light's too far away.
