Survival of the fittest

CONTEST POEM:

Survival of the fittest
By: Ashley Paul

Around every tree
Danger is waiting
Around every bush
Predators anticipating

Survival of the fittest
This is how life is in the jungle
Leopard and Jaguars,
for food they will battle

The jungle is a harsh place!
The ones who take, live.
As mean as that may be.
The ones who die, give.

Their cannot be a right thing to do
if you will end up dead
Maybe in the city
but in the jungle, you must get fed!

Survival of the fittest
This is how life is in the jungle
Mice and frogs scream
when they are the food prize in a battle.

The jungle is an awful place
so hard to last one day
Running and screaming here
does not involve play

So if you think the animals have it easy
you have been mistaken.
Cause at the end of the day
the animals are either dead or badly aching.

I dont know if this is how you wanted the theme of this poem to be but i see it as a funny poem.. the !'s have a big part in this along with the tendancy of simple language.. it makes it seem slightly childish-therefore funny.. but as a funny type poem its very good.. but i dont know if that means much if it isnt..
