With Arms Wide Open

by Cuddles   Oct 25, 2006

I wait for you
in our old meeting place
with arms wide open
straining to see your face

I sit by the old oak
singing softly to myself
wondering where you are
thinking of you and nothing else

I blink back the tears
slowly gathering in my eyes
wishing to just melt away
to wither like a flower and die

But I just let them fall
my heart a little broken
and should you come I'll still be here
waiting with arms wide open

Wow... This poem expresses something we all feel sooner or later in a descriptive, vivid, and universal way. Thats the thing about love though. Theres no control. You can't make someone love you enough and you cant stop yourself from loving them, or leaving the tree... Great Write!!! ^_^
