Apology

by Genevieve   Oct 27, 2006

I woke up this morning,
to the sound of a phone call.
Never thought I'd get it,
As I watched my world slowly fall.
I remember the day we met,
I remember what you said,
And as I'm lyin in bed,
I get the word that you are dead.
And I'm sorry you're not here,
And I'm sorry that I never really got to know you.
But I've shed so many tears
And I wish that I could tell you,
That I'm sorry,
Don't you?
I lit up a cigarette,
by the fire as I cried.
Never thought that I'd feel this way,
so i sat there and i pried,
Deeper inside myself.
As I was trying to figure out
why the hell i was breakin down;
thought you'd always be around.
And I'm sorry you're not here,
and I'm sorry that I never really got to know you.
But I've shed so many tears,
And I wish that I could tell you,
that I'm sorry,
Don't you?
And I wish that you were here,
I'm sorry.
