Confusion

by jennifer leigh   Nov 3, 2006

Confusion was the question in her head
What to do? What was said?
Her close friend was changing her way
Being stubborn if you may

'I just want a straight answer!' Not this pain
I'm going mental, its driving me insane
I should have listened to what i was told
But being stubborn just turned me cold

As she kept asking him, it became obsessive
Very annoying 'do you like me, friends or not?'
I just want an answer straight
Not one so cold and fake

We kept a secret from her, to avoid the pain
Not much luck, she found out anyway
But he told her no, more than once
A million times in a number of months

He tried telling her
He didn't like her in that way
But all her questions drove him away
She had decided to ignore what was in front of her

She carried on for far too long
She'll end up in pain , all in the wrong
No need for confusion, it's all very clear
'He doesn't like you' they whispered in her ear

In the end a broken heart
But no-one to blame but you from the start
You chose to ignore, have it your way
But next time listen and avoid that lane
