What is it?

by Michael D Nalley   Nov 5, 2006

Scribed by a master as eternity looking back
Searching creation for something it may lack
There are those lustful who would caress it
The envious wish vainly they could possess it

It treads a razors edge that is mysteriously narrow
Seen only by those shot with a mythical arrow
Dwelling in the passions of those that behold
A treasure, and a pleasure more sought than gold

We may dream about it when we silently sleep
It may often be shallow, or it may be very deep
Some hear it in the melody of their favorite song
If you think of it fondly you cannot get it wrong

When I read this poem, it reminds me of love, but I know that you mean beauty by it. And I actually like it better when I think of it as beauty. You had some great vocabulary in this and it flowed very well. The rhyming worked very well.. and you described everything in this good also. Great job on this! 5/5 Keep it up! You are an amazing poet!

Once again, very well done. I just don't see how I could say anything else. Your poems just aren't enough for words to describe. I loved it! 5/5
    God Bless

Christian? Islamic? You seem to be speaking of some sort of religious perspective. I enjoyed it. Thank you.
