MY AUNT (RIP)

by Boogie   Nov 9, 2006

2001, the most dreadful year

A year filled with despair

For we have lost someone so dear

I was just 11 years old

Unaware of the pain life holds

She was a part of our family, a part of our life

Not just a great aunt, but also a great mom and wife

She was fun, honest, funny, and sincere

Always had the best stories to hear

Had the best smile ever, always filled with happiness

Can sweep away any strong form of sadness

She was with no doubt my favorite aunt

As a kid, I wished she was my mom and not just an aunt

She used to always provide us with whatever we want

Just to bring smiles to our faces

Used to always entertain us, and take us to different places

She was the most joyful person ever

And will always remain in our hearts forever

5 years have passed since that day

And everyone still feels the same way

When her name is mentioned, all eyes look down

And every single smile suddenly turns into a frown

I wish for her to once again be present right next to me

For our family and our lives are not the way they used to be

Sometimes when I close my eyes, its her I see

Looking down and smiling at me

I crave for the day Ill once again be able to see

Her gorgeous smile while welcoming me

As I fly above into her arms with delight

To the skies above with light so bright
