Broken Pieces

The pain I feel in my heart is immeasurable
I long to heal from the agony that engulfs my soul as I try to repress
fresh memories of the passionate rage that has tainted our sacred union.
Harsh actions drain the spirit; Harsh words extinguish the brilliant light that
once radiated out of every pore in my body.

I long to shut out the words, to embrace the loving, caring person that I know you are.
To celebrate and uphold the promises two lovers share when they know all they have is each other.
To forget these promises shatters the foundation of the love we need to nurture.

I still long for your touch; Long for your love; Long for your understanding; Long for you.
