Double Edged Swords

by alone in the crowd   Nov 15, 2006

Rocks eroding beneath falling tears
slowly creating a tomb for an empty shell
a corpse that survives on rations of emotions
chewing and gnawing at happiness and joy
tall shrubs surround the grave site
hiding any sense of truth from the world
daggers, words, that murdered this soul
quickly buried and hidden from sight
the body curls and croons to the night
rocking to the beat of its own moans
tears streaming from slits for eyes
waterfalls of emotions and pain seep from its face
shivers dance along the spine
playfully crawling upon each vertebrate
the corpse deteriorates beneath the heaviness of each breath
clinging to its own hair; screaming a song of death
self provided scratches decorate what is left
emotions litter the ground and the sobs stop
emptiness fills the shell of a person
mind, soul, and body die of sorrow
the heart...still pounding...is murdered
