Free..until tomorrow

by Bittersweet Sundown   Nov 18, 2006

Look in her eyes,
Tell me what you see.
Each night she cries,
Wishing she was free.

Her mother beats her,
And she doesn't know why.
There is no cure,
She just wants to die.

Though she never shows her pain,
She doesn't want to seem weak.
Deep down, she's going insane,
People think she's a freak.

I know this girl very well,
Like the back of my hand.
This life she lives is hell,
She wants to be where there is sand.

Her special place is in her mind,
Where she wanders about.
Everyone is kind,
No need to shout.

There she feels the ocean breeze,
Walking on the beach.
Her body will not freeze,
For she has warmth to reach.

She opens her eyes,
What does she see?
People watching as her body dies,
Then she will be free.

Free from pain,
Free from sorrow.
No longer insane,
Until tomorrow...
