Ugly Feelings

by rachael   Nov 20, 2006

The silky black night
wraps around my body
like a warm blanket
the heat is deceiving

lightening bugs hover nearby
i call them my friends
but they do not know me
they are only acquaintances

a coyote calls for it's mate
i hear the pain
i sense the loneliness
my voice echos the call

clouds block the moon
it is as full as i am empty
faded yellow over time
enchanting and bewitching

the coyote howls
more passionately this time
alone and depressed
it cries for the one

i search for my love
who feels my sorrow
beauty only rises
from the most ugly
