For You ( A Dedication to my mother)

by Letty   Nov 23, 2006

I am
Drowning in sorrow,
Feasting on rage.
Crying out to God,
"Please take away this pain"!

Surviving off of memories,
Hoping that they never fade,
Because a piece of each one creates
A whole picture perfect day.

Bitterness tries to covet me
knowing what the future holds.
I try capturing each smile you give,
And place it in my soul.

But a hurricane escapes me.
Though it's not that time of year.
An earthquake then follows it
shaking up all my fears.

I refuse to let the darkness take over,
Because I love watching the stars in the sky.
Especially the ones that shines the brightest,
The ones that sparkle in your eyes.

Seeing my reflection in you,
Only makes it harder for me,
To grasp on to the horrible fact
that one day you must leave.

I'm so sorry for all the hell I have put you through,
And the disappointment you may see in me.
But I must let you know while I still have the chance,
That I love you with all my heart
And your love I still need.

I love you mom!

I liked this, conveyed quite a bit of pain... not sure if your refering to just the normal eventual loss that is life or if your mother is sick? But either way I wish the best to you and yours... I look forward to reading more of your work!

    Cheers,

Letty dear, i thought i've read your poem before, by the way just want to let you know.... "mother" Her love cannot be measured, or confined by bricks or bars, It would burst through walls of steel, feel and go out beyond the stars. Should a child ask of it's mother, What can I do for you? She'd waste no time in saying Just tell mommy, "I love you".... anyway, keep writing, and have a good day... take care.
