Dead man, dead tree, a spirit inside

by Christopher   Nov 26, 2006

The fog is rolling in
The scene is eerie
Walking along, my sight is restricted by its heaviness
Only the putrid smell of nearby swamp
Resonates my senses
There is pit in the back of my throat
I am lost in this place
I am a broken man
No one to guide me
I cannot even rely on myself
How could have I gotten myself in this mess
There is no turning back
Even though I don't know which way is back
I am looking for anything
Anything to lead me from this place
I come across a dead
A rotted out tree
It has seen better days
Just like my self
I decide to sit and rest.
During my time of rest
I must have fallen asleep
For I dreamed
Inside that rotten tree
Life flourished
It was used by birds and insects alike
Other animals used it for shade in the warmest of day
While others used it for shelter in a rainstorm.
When I awoke, the fog was gone
I could see clearly
I never realized how much my life resembled the
Dead rotting tree
My life is worthless
Serves no purpose
It is just rotting
Taking up space
But the tree, even though it was dead
Was alive in spirit
The truth was evident
It couldn't be any clearer.
My body is worthless
Just as the tree.
But the like the tree
I have a spirit inside
When everything seems not to be as it
The spirit gives my life purpose
Makes me alive

    Wow,
I really like the linkage of the dead tree and you, I think I agree and know what you mean, but maybe if you try to give yourself some more credit I mean
"My life is worthless...." I mean what is that about?
no ones life is worthless even if they think it is....
but I get what you mean,
I really like it, and oh btw you might want to get rid of that A crap lol
