A Daddy's Girl's Thoughts

by Katey   Nov 28, 2006

A daddy's girl I'll always be
He is always there in times of need
I may get mad at him now and then
But my best friend is what he's always been.

When boys come along and I start to flirt.
He will be there to say don't get hurt
When I wear something that he doesn't like,
He'll tell me straight up and we'll get in a fight.

When I go to college and go off on my own.
His precious time raising me won't be blown.
I'll probably change majors a couple of times.
And then he will think "Man the time flies"

When I grow up, he'll dread the day
The day when he has to give me away.
He will cry tears of joy.
But he should never forget, I"ll always be his little girl.

The last stanza didn't rhyme like the rest, but the poem was very sweet and I liked the title of it. Good job! It's nice to see happy family poems on here.
