Goodbye, Keep in Touch

by Katey   Nov 28, 2006

When you go off to college, I want you to know
I love you very much, even though it doesn't show.
Don't do anything stupid, or make me ashamed.
But always know where your home is, and the road from which you came.

We're technically cousins, and sorta kinda friends.
But we're more like brother and sister, the fighting never ends.
Our fighting isn't bad, it's the kind that's fun to do.
But when we need to stop, we can always do that too.

We've had a lot of good times, we've had a lot of bad.
We've had a lot of happy times, we've had a lot of sad.
Through the years, we've gotten away with lots and lots of stuff.
But never one have we disagreed about Grandma's cream puffs.

But now it's time to say goodbye,
I don't know what to say.
I don't want to cry or show any feelings,
but I probably will anyways.

So get your things and hit the road,
I'll see you in a couple months.
But one more thing before you go,
I love you, Goodbye, Keep in Touch.

***I wrote this for my cousin who went to college and I didn't know what to say to him.
