Fairytale Envy

by Fairytales   Dec 1, 2006

I know that everyone loves fairytales,
Kids dream of having their own,
After time goes by, we start to envy,
Dreaming of the life we've never known.

Cinderella, now she's a beauty,
Had a hard life but ended it well.
And besides, she married a prince,
Bet she's never been through hell.

Snow White, so she ate an apple,
And then she fell to the floor,
But at least she doesn't have to go through this,
All she does is lie down and snore.

Sleeping Beauty, her, I'm jealous of,
She's a beauty and all she does is sleep,
She's only afraid of nightmares,
she dreams while I cry and weep.

Pocahontas, with all her animal friends,
Not to mention the guy she meets,
It's a good thing she lives in the forest,
away from the evil running around in the streets.

The Little Mermaid, okay, she wants legs,
Why would anyone want to experience this pain?
She thinks it's all sunshine and puppies,
Someone's going to have to explain.

These girls, they live the life I want,
The life I've always yearned,
But life is not always fun, and never fair,
It's the one thing that I've learned.

In the end we realize,
To be happy, you need to pretend,
Someone should sue Disney,
for making us believe that happiness is the end.
