The Flame

by Madison   Dec 4, 2006

The faintest flicker of a dying flame;
Life is slipping away in the wind.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust
No longer will you see me with the
Flush of life upon my cheeks, or the
Breath within my breast. This ends
Here tonight. Poison sweeping through
My veins; travel quickly, I pray thee,
But work thy magic slowly. This
Moment is one to savor, full of
Life's blood as a favor to Mr. Reaper.
Blood pools on the floor before me
AS shattered pieces of my soul
Fall bitterly to the floor. "God!" I
Cary, "Let not thy Holy Hand be
Separated from me! Let not my
Wretched soul be purged into the
Fiery depths of the earth's core!"
A shuddering breath. A flicker of
The heart. The flame gives up the
Fight. The clutch of Death releases
As my soul is dragged away.

I really like this one also I liked the style and the emotion you put into it. I also liked the way you approached it as a flame dieing inside. 5/5
