Melted Icing

by Mommy And Me   Dec 5, 2006

The smell of chocolate aroma
Filled the stale air
Up the staircase she fled
With only a single thought in mind

Fresh out of the oven
The icing melted smoothly
The knife slid right through
As a rattling came from the stair

Across the table she flew
Grabbing the silver platter
Yes, the icing melted perfectly
Upon the fresh new cake

35 minutes of baking
and watching as it rose
30 seconds of her eating it
leaving not a piece for me
