What do you see

by Maddeline   Dec 5, 2006

When you look at my face can you see the shame.
Do my eyes portray the guilt, do they show I'm to blame.
Trying so hard to hang on to sane,
get my life back together, erase the f'n pain.
This misery loves the company found in a bottle.
So close to the edge, I push harder on the throttle.
A mirror tells me no lies, but what is it that you see,
A tortured mind with ghosts that won't let me be,
A waste of anything that could have been me.
