One more time

by Maddeline   Feb 1, 2007

Everytime it happens, this anger builds inside.
Angry words about to bust free; if it happens one more time.
The next time he grabs my wrist, or pushes me against a wall,
the next time he makes a fist, he better hope I fall.
Cause one of these times I'm gonna get even, and that'll be the day.
when I cease to be the victim, and he begins to pay.
For all the broken bones, torn friendships, and bruises.
For all the humiliation and loss of pride each time he abuses.
I know I'll never get out of this, I'm trying to make a phone call with a dime.
I survive by telling myself things will be different if he does it one more time.
One more times started years ago, and I have yet to make a stand.
It has become an effort to want to live, when I see him raise his hand.
