Fury Of a Madman

by Marc Carlson   Dec 7, 2006

As he finishes placing on his pads,
Only one thing is one his mind
His face looks as if it were made of stone
Eyes that could pierce a man through the heart
He looks forward into the locker with no expression
With his helmet in his hand he readies himself
An ere silence is about, its the calm before the storm
With his team he places on his helmet and walks out to the field
He sees all the people yelling and screaming
He hears nothing, a dead silence
Like the silence of the woods after a gun shot
Still only one thought is on his mind
As they call his name is lets a little of his caged rage out
Running to join his teammates the crowds energy is getting to him
He feels like a caged lion ready to attack his pray
The team circles around him and he speaks
With the courage of a General before battle he rallies the troops
The team feeds off his anger, energy, and pure rage
The team lines up for the kick-off
This Warrior takes his place and starts opening the cage
The fury rushes out and over comes him
Like a man possessed by a demon
He lets out a roar of a thousand men
He is like an animal on the prowl ready to kill
Jumping up and down he is enraged
The kicker puts his hand up and the ref blows the whistle
As he watches the kicker run up to the ball
He starts to pick up his speed, his eyes fully open
He runs as fast as possible and readies himself to make the tackle
But just them an unfortunate soul jumps in front of him
As this man tries to block him, he unloads onto him
The force of the impact forced the man off his feet
He hears the man curse as he is falling, knowing it will hurt
He continues running through him like nothing happened
His eyes wonder to find the ball carrier
As he nears him he breaks down to make the tackle
Like a cat stalking its pray
He goes full speed into the ball carrier
Placing his right shoulder pad right below the mans right breast
He raps his arms around him just below his hips
Still driving into him takes him off the ground
They both are air born for what seems forever
The ball carrier hits the ground
Like a trunk driving into a brick wall, he is down
The ball carrier stays down for a second for this impact was unlike others
He quickly gets up and roars like a lion again
But this time it is in triumph
The fury of a mad man was unleashed and is still lose
The other team from that point on knew that they had to deal with him now
