This world today

by missy   Dec 9, 2006

I sat today in front of my computer,
I finally let go of all the future.
Today I got stuck in the moment,
thought of what was really important,
There are people out there, that take it easy,
some don't care because they are happy,
but what about those
who just can't walk,
the tattered close,
and don't want to talk?

People with HIV
can't get a cure
they have no money,
others are insecure.
I see some cry
as others pass by.
Low self esteem
is what some got
cuz people are mean
and share their thoughts.

Kids get beaten
everyday
no one's speaking
so they pray.
Pedophiles surf the net
meeting with teens,
breaking their dreams
raping those that they met.

In every country you can see,
jail pits full of convicts.
It's crazy.
racism has destroyed many souls,
harsh words came from those who are so cold.
Guns and weapons for revenge,
how low can this world really descend.
we search for peace, but only find war,
we avoid all evil, but see more and more.

a world filled with struggles
a world filed with pain
a world filled with troubles
which no one can explain.
We're all so different but feel the same,
hoping, wishing this world would change.

I wont tell you "OMG I LOVE YOUR POEM",not because i dont think so but because its hypocritisism and too ordinary(as i see above)...however,after reading your poem i was wondering:ive read so many books and poems about changes and world peace etc,but why cant we try ourselves to change the world or at least try to leave it better to our children instead of just w8ing until everything happens by it self?because it never will...
