That Razor

A deep-set feeling that she
No longer can deny
Turning those who love her away
She dies inside with each of her lies

With no one left for comfort
None willing to offer their hand
Shattered mind and broken heart
By herself, she can no longer stand

She cries alone now
Her sobs and screams unimportant
Disconnected from what is real
Suicidal thoughts run rampant

And the world cries with her
Lightning illuminates her face
The rain it beats on her window
Running mascara only adding to her grace

But the romance is dead and gone
There is nothing pretty about this
The scarlet stains on the floor
The blood flowing from her wrist

With threescore on each arm
She breathes her final breath
The inhale a short gasp
And the exhale that brought her death

Those crying eyes opened wide
Those who found her will see it forever
Burned deep into their memory
Her open wrists and that bloody razor

I liked all of this poem, except the last stanza, maybe it you tried changing the last two lines around it would work better. I loved the detail in this, and the way you made it seem glorious at first, and then showed what she was really doing.

    Great work.
