Tears Behind Her Smile

by Chemistry   Dec 16, 2006

Her warm smile, resembling the first day of spring
Her laughter, like the birds that sing
Threads around like nothing's wrong
As she whistles the tune of a happy song

But truth be told, if you look real deep
You'll find immense sorrow she can no longer keep
A drop of tear falls down from her dark eye
Every night lets out a sad sigh

This she never wants anyone to see
Scared that if they knew they would all flee
So her problems were kept in a vast pile
These are the tears behind her smile
