Why Do I Write?

by ABake   Dec 19, 2006

Why write poetry, when you can go for a run?
Why write poetry, when you can do something a little more fun?

Writing poetry, isn't a hobby it is a talent.
A special one indeed.
Its like a breath, almost as if its something I need.

How would i vent, without a pen in my hand?
Or my feelings, not on paper then how would i understand?

Not many people know, how important poetry can be.
But to let everyone who reads this poetry is REALLY special to me.

More than a way to let my emotions, or anger go.
But a way to let my true feelings show.

I've never actually had someone ask me "Why do you write"
But if they ever were to, this poem is exactly what i would say!

..::The truth about my writing..::

    Ya writting is a great way to express ourselves, most people can't really write poetry, they think putting words down is poetry but its much more then that, real poetry touches you when u read it, your poem was so true and i loved it 5/5
