Empty Canvas

by Run out of words   Dec 22, 2006

You left me,
and my life was filled with a sudden darkness.
My skies have suddenly turned cloudless.

Hurriedly I spray on the papers,
I spray colors of paint.
But the image of you only blurs,
and the colors all seem faint.

You left me my darling,
what is this sort of injustice?
In your hand lays a knife as a paint brush...
and my heart...your canvas.

You pierced me,
You pierced me!
Wasn\\\'t I your one and only beauty?
And then as a bonus...
you left me my empty canvas.

You considered it a circus,
you left me in dampness...
and then as a bonus...
you left me my empty canvas.

So I will tear this canvas,
In all due fairness...
you said our love was deathless,
but I am helpless.

I shall tear all the memories...
but in my heart they are burnt.
so this empty canvas...
will kill the memories that were\\\'nt.

I\\\'ve got myself over you,
because you got yourself over me.
You made it seem quite easy,
but I did it steadily.

Sweetheart you don't know the pain,
the pain I had to endure.
And from the pain I don't know what you gain,
but you liked it that's for sure.

You considered it a circus,
you left me in my dampness...
and then as a bonus...
you left me my empty canvas.
