A Desired Burden

by Run out of words   Dec 22, 2006

To open a window,
and see a blanket of white.
You may not notice,
how lucky you are to view such a sight.

But I know how much it means,
to actually have a christmas.
I\'m already in my teens,
and a white christmas I have never witnessed.

The problem is I live in Thailand,
and there is nothing wrong with that.
It\'s humid most of the year,
and happily in the beaches we get tanned.

But never has a snowflake,
fallen upon my nose.
And never have I had to rake,
out of my yard all that snow.

It may seem to be a stupid wish,
but nevertheless a wish it still is.
Just for this one Christmas,
I want the cold and snowy bliss.

Every year we gather,
and we sing the Christmas carols.
We sip our wine and clatter,
recieving gifts like clothes and toys and jewels.

After all is finished,
I go up to my room.
The people all have vanished,
and suddenly I\'m filled with gloom.

All the angels participated,
I could feel their presence there.
Except the snow angel,
She\'s always hidden somewhere.

Maybe it\'s the way many have to live.
But I hate it when people complain,
about what their white christmas doesn\'t give,
The thought is basically insane.

Because never has a snowflake,
fallen upon my nose.
And never have I had to rake,
out of my yard all that snow.

All that snow which may be a burden to you...
Have you ever wondered?
If someone else wanted to carry that burden too?
