Elevated Anger

by Sarah Ann   Dec 26, 2006

The phone lies still on the receiver
Yet, ironically, I hear her.
Seductive whispers bring me pain
And my feelings for you changed.

You come to bed, I want to smile
But I haven't in a while
For in your eyes I see her face
In her most eloquent grace

And I try pushing you away
Farther, still why do you stay?
Knowing it deep within my heart
I think it's best if we do part

Never was I blind to your reception
Nor the common misconception
Though so utterly deceiving,
The true world tells me-
Stop believing.

The phone lay still on the receiver
Amazingly, my heart still hears her

You tell me I shouldn't want to die
But can't give me
One good reason why.

I fukcing hate you.

Wow, that ending made this entire poem intense! It started off slightly calm, but as you read on, the anger, the hatred started building up. Then ended with a very.. harsh line. Really nicely done. I liked the progression in this poem.

I know there's a lot more behind this poem than what I just read. And that's why I absolutely love it. That's what I love about most of your poems. Anyways, I don't know what to tell you...hating leads to no good...but you know that. =) Just whatever the problem may be...stay strong!! xx
