My Choice [Part Two]

by ephemera   Jan 3, 2007

How can our love transcend time and space
When more than that keeps us apart,
And how can you be so certain
That I will not go and break your heart.
I beg you, please do not say those words
You know I love to hear,
For they are listening my love
And they listen with open ears.

To keeps this love I beg you
Write your words in pen,
For someone is always listening
And they know where our thoughts have been.
And I cannot continue
Placing your heart in danger anymore,
For when we speak the only barrier
Between them and us is a door.

And this door will always open
As long as they hold the key,
And when the time comes
The decision will be for me.
And I have endured more
Than any mortal should take,
And you my love, know naught
For this decision you will never have to make.

This pain and this choice
For you and for me,
And I am sailing through the storm my love
To you beyond the sea.
And though I shall live in love
It will be only with you,
For they have lost their loving daughter
They thought they once knew.

And years pass with love and with light
Memories crafted of gold,
Now I am the mother
A child of love I now hold.
And now my heart is sore
For the way it had to be,
And my soul is aching in truth
My heart, forever beyond the sea.
