Slowly Fading. [ForContest]

Slowly Fading.

Dreams are fading way too fast.
The card board box will barely last.
Gun shots heard at least ten times.
Still searching sidewalks for pennies and dimes.

Drugs led me here, silent and alone.
Heart is frozen, cold as stone.
Been jumped four times this week.
Doctors willing to help, I seek.

Mother's dissapointed, in all I do.
Broken hearts, shattered by you.
Rape victim, tampered and torn.
Apartment up above playing bloody korn.

Forever forgotten, and never forgiven.
Street corners are where I'm making my living.
Gangs passing me by, taking me down.
Oh Lord, just one time.. Take away this frown.

Give me one night, in the house I dream of.
Doors and locks, No guns, just love.
Help me break my habbit of this.
And, once again see those I miss.v

This is a very powerful poem. I felt sad and remorseful and wanted to reach out to the victim. I loved the flow of the poem and think you have done an awesome job.
