Never a moment (Once I was Friend)

by VioletRaven   Jan 12, 2007

Never a moment gone,
When I have not thought of her,
Never a second past,
When I have not wished her near,
Never a dream seen,
That has not held my fear,
Never a heartbeat,
Without her echo in it.

My dear, I am your traitor,
Your unworthy shadow.
Do you still remember me?
Will I ever again be welcome,
In your fragile heart?

My tears fall for you,
My heart cries for you,
My fears are all for you.

I cannot ask forgiveness,
My absence is my sin.
I cannot be your princess,
For I will never be perfect enough...
For You.

Without you I am dead already,
I never left,
But you cannot see,
I have not forsaken you,
But you do no know,
Everything I've done for you,
Shall die in silence.

I, unworthy.
I, unkind.
I, thoughtless.
I, absent.

I... the one you called friend
Do you hear me now?

Can you see the etchings,
I have carved for your pain?
Can you see the steps I've made,
All for your gain?
Can you see the rope at my wrist,
That carries your name?

My beloved.
I am Sorry.

5/5. once again it is quite easy to see you're an excellent poet with a VERY good ear for what works and a mind for what gives a truly deep, meaningful feeling.

i can't really express how much this one menat to me. it seems to describe everything i feel down to a T.

    Fantastic, amazing, brilliant. keep writing!
