The Soul's Dark Night

by debbylyn   Jan 13, 2007

The soul's desire a quest for love
Deceived by beauty's fickle eye
Emotions wax and wane as the moon
Subdues the ocean's ebbing tide

Dark shrouded night enraptured
Brief stars relinquished gold
True visions of love lie floundering
On life's beaches stark and cold

Held captive in bleak fortress
Built by guilt and hurt and tears
A broken hearted dreamer dwells
The soul's dark night consoles the fear

Still faith caught the new horizon
Dawn's melodious promise beckoned home
Fettered soul's desires unshackled
Renewed the quest for love and hope

    Wow.
    Loved it, once again.
Your poems, don't need any 'help'.
    As, some call it.
Or, critique. Well, not the ones I've read so far.
    Amazing Job, Hunni.

Debbie, You say things like I can't. Your words of beauty.
    The things I feel
    yet can not say.
You have the mind of a true poet. I am but just your admirer. Excellent work! BRAVO!
