Lost Reflections (collab)

by debbylyn   Jan 15, 2007

Gazing in my mirror deep
Where's the girl of laughing eyes?
Someone else stares back at me
A woman I don't recognize.

Since you've gone the girl's replaced;
Gone laughing eyes of yesterday.
Her smiles and laughter not a trace
Now grief and sadness my array.

Lines of sadness trace my eyes.
Life's lessons learned too soon.
Holding memories wrapped inside
Lest grief my life consumes.

Looking glass faded memories
My eyes reflect the tears,
Of what became of you and I
When death destroyed our years.

    I loved it.
    Gosh, you're an amazing poet.
I use that word.. quite strictly. Lol.
    From beginning to end.
I always read two times to find my favorite stanza, and gosh, I couldn't sweetie.
    Loved them all.
Third was a catchy. :] Loved it, but so were the rest.
You two did a great job.
You'll def be on my favorites by the time I done with the next 6.
    Keep it up, sweetheart.

Think you should do more of this
    collab stuff.......

Beautiful poem...I can tell how good the poem is cos I tend to read slower,
then you go back to certain lines.....
then you read it again...just in case you miss something....then you look at the clock and think of all the things you should be doing!!!! ha,ha,ha.
