Please Come Back.

by Thoughtless Consideration   Jan 15, 2007

You're eyes are haunting me everywhere I go.
When I lay my head down to sleep,
I see your face there- evilly aglow.

Your harsh words ring in my ears-
That fateful phone call ripped me up,
You exposed every single fresh fear.
You let loose ever single fresh tear.

Your shadow follows me when I walk,
The deepest traces of sorrow are evident when I talk.

My last wish for you...
Is to please, just let me be.
Please, just set me free.
Please, just let me leave.

There's nobody here anymore,
Not even you-
The person who I love so.
There are no friends left,
None at all,
So please, let me go.
So please, loosen your grip on my weeping soul.

I still remember the first time I met you-
I still remember that smile
That ripped me up from the start.
I can't forget that cruel day,
That forced us to part.

We'd make this last forever,
That's what you said to me almost every day.
We'd share everything together.
We'd make this last forever.

Forever means never, according to you.
You left too soon...

"Please come back," I whisper into my pillow soaked with tears.
"Please come back," I whisper as I long for past years.
