The light that shone

by XfromwithinX   Jan 15, 2007

My dress is frayed at the edge,
it got caught on the prickly hedge.
Now I await to see my fate,
my heart will follow , it's always late.

I needed to know that you cared,
but with your love you never shared.
So I ran through the forest as quick as I could,
you followed me, I knew you would.

I led you to where we could not be heard,
whether we would be seen it never occurred.
We were watched from inside an old oak tree,
they were watching closely, watching me.

We pushed and shoved,we shouted and screamed,
the wind whistled and the enchanted lake gleamed.
When you left me, you ran quite fast,
my life with you before my eyes flashed past.

Once you disappeared over the hill,
someone was behind me, it sent me a chill.
As I turned a bright light stood before me,
was it was I could not see.

I ran and ran across the forest floor,
around the corner the bright light shone more and more.
When I looked closer there was not just one,
lots of them in front of me, all at once they shone.

My dress is frayed at the edge,
it got caught on the prickly hedge.
Now I await to see my fate,
my heart will follow , it's always late.

make of it what you will because to be honest I haven't a clue
