What's On The Inside

by Kristina   Jan 16, 2007

I know I'm not very pretty,
I know I'm very shy,
But can't you just for once,
Look what's on the inside?

Why is it always about looks?
Why is it about how we dress?
Can't it be about our personalities
For once, instead of the all rest?

You never take the time to know,
How someone really feels.
If they are not skinny enough,
You don't want to be their friend.

Girls turn on the TV and think,
They should look like the models.
They starve themselves to almost death,
And nobody tries to stop them.

Everywhere you look people are dying.
Kids are out living on the streets,
Trying to survive in this messed up world.
Nobody knows how bad it hurts.

Great message. It had a pretty good flow going until the last stanza. Still a great read though. 5/5

At some stanzas, there are a couple lines that I would suggest shortening a little . Like putting the words together ? Like :

Look what is on the inside?
    Look what`s on the inside?

In my opinion, it would soudn better . But it`s only a suggestion . Anyways, fabulous . This is so true, and it sends out a good message . Beautifully done .
