My Other Side

We Were The Best of Friends
Until That Very Last Day
The Day She Had Gone So Far
That left me anything but Okay

It happened so fast long ago
Still shocked at what had occurred
To See Her Die Instantly in front of me
To scream out her very last word

We Were Riding Along a Windy day
Playing our music at a simple beat
A jolt had hit us so quickly and rough
Thats when she went missing out of her seat

I Woke up about twenty minutes later
To see the paramedics have already arrived
I had asked where my friend had gone
They told me I was the only one that had survived

A sudden blackness occupied my mind
My lips refused to speak at the very last word
To hear my best friend was gone forever
A brutal heartbreak in my heart had spurred

The silence of my home was deafening
Crying was my addiction for the months ahead
Crying wouldn't stop the pain
Crying wouldn't bring her back from the dead

Every time the knowledge of her death entered
Tears cascaded down my cheeks
Her voice is silenced to the unknown reasons
For Senseless reasons she no longer speaks

Pain was all that existed in my marrow
She was my right hand and other side of my heart
Depression poured out of me like water
All because of drunk-driving is my heart torn-apart.
