Breathless & Broken.

Breathless & Broken.

I wonder what went through his head,
To take me from comfortable bed.
In the silence of the night, awoken in shock.
Seeing the bolted and broken lock..
The door was cracked, the light shone in.
Wondered if it would be my end.

Now, sitting on the cold, wet floor.
Waiting for him to unlock the door.
It's been hours in this bitter place.
Days since I seen a single face.
Moments since I last prayed.
My life is shockingly being delayed.

I've waited for someone to rescue me.
I wonder how long it will actually be.
I hear the mice across the room.
The sounds of a witch & flying broom.
I see the darkness right before my eyes.
And, here the screams of others cries.

I can only imagine what they went through.
And, what he's going to actually do.
He's abandoned me in this lonely basement.
With dirt filled cracks along the cement.
Just snagged me away from my life.
Gave my family too much strife.

Now, I think this is where I'll die.
To escape, why even try?
He'll just end my life sooner than expected.
Imagine the disease that have affected.
My soul, My life suddenly stolen.
Left me alone, breathless & broken.
