IV (A Song) "Our Matinee"

by Poetically Speaking   Jan 20, 2007

I wonder how you smell, on a chipper autumn night.
Beneath the shimmering gaze of stars.
I wonder how your eyes gleam, under the rows of street lights,
staring down these passing cars.

I wonder how you laugh, when the movies play.
What kind of candy would you want,
as we hold hands during the matinee.

I wonder how long till everythings alright
How long until our plans spread their wings to flight
(Oh how long, how long, ohhhh, how long...)

Till we fly
Break the bonds that restrain our love
I wonder when we'll tryyyyy
to be free to soar above

Greater than anything, my passion for you
as the feelings flow through my heart.
And I'd do anything for you,
from the end to the start.
Till the nights come to light,
and those fallen must abide to part.
I'll stand by your side,
from the end...
from the end...

UNTIL THE START!

I wonder how long till everything's alright
How long until our plans spread their wings to flight
(Oh how long, how long, ohhhh, how long...)

I wonder how long till everything's alright
How long until our plans spread their wings to flight
(Oh how long, how long, ohhhh, how long...)

Till we fly
Break the bonds that restrain our love
I wonder when we'll tryyyyy
to be free to soar above

When the night comes to light,
we'll be together when they part.
Holding hands with candy and soda,
watching our movie play from the end to the start...
