Not In Till Death Do You See

by Jessica   Jan 23, 2007

I once knew a girl who I loved and adored
But she disobeyed my trust
Now she baths in blood and gore

She had made a mistake and knew
She's taking in the pain
Wail my suffering slowly gained

I could not take her back in
For what she did to me
But she waited as that night grew dark and din

She knew both our lives would not be spared
But she still went on
Went on and compared

She looked at my eyes with shame
She wanted me back
She wanted to take all the blame

She said she did it to help me
Or I would have been killed
Why would she not let me be?

I walk away blind
Not wanting to see her
To get her out of my mine

Open your eyes she says to me
But I take no notice to her pleads
As I walk and fall into the sea

As I was drowning and hear her cry
I began to realize
She never betrayed me for that guy

For if she did’t then he would kill me
Now covered in death do I see
That she really did love me

This is an interesting piece, because you combine the elements of death, sadness, but also love. That is an interesting way to present the concept you had. Descriptive and full of emotion this is a nice piece. I like these lines, and also the metaphor that is implied by them. [or rather the metaphor that came to me]

"Open your eyes she says to me
But I take no notice to her pleads
As I walk and fall into the sea"

Overall a very nice piece. Thank you so much for your comment on my poem, it was very much appreciated. What you said was interesting, and I will definitely think about it. Best wishes, and blessed be. *Athame
