Eyes of Blue

by Mommy And Me   Jan 23, 2007

Eyes of Blue

In my arms, everything was perfect
Her eyes of blue, and lips of pink
With a laugh that lit my soul

I played my cards, and put one down
Lost the one I love
And there she sits
Eyes of blue, painting my evening sky

Black and red the horizon lays
The blue holds tight to my soul
For lips of pink painted my canvas
And now I lay here alone

Once I held my world in my arms
Now I watch as she walks away
I try to catch her, but no matter what
She is always 3 feet to far

Blue taints my heart
Black holds my eyes
Her lips caress the sky
And here I sit, alone

This is very eloquent, nicely paced, and delicately emotional without being weak or plaintive. A very mature and enjoyable piece.

That was just beautifully. I would hate to oneline this poem. JEEZ. Thats a 5/5. And the contest (Fairytale.), I wont judge it untill 1) all the poems are done, 2) by the 26th. The 25th was a typo. hehe.
