Dear Mother

by Jamica   Jan 24, 2007

The way you held me close to you
In your arms you held me tight
Your warm and gentle touch
Made everything seem right

The way you often said to me
The words I wanted to hear
Gave me hope and brought a smile
Dried each and every tear

The way you always understood
The many ways you cared
You were a friend I could depend on
For always being there

The many years we've spent together
It's so hard now that we're apart
For you my dear mother there will always be
A special place in my heart!

I wrote this poem for my mom's funeral. She died Feb 23rd 2002.It's been 6 years now. She died of a heart attack from using drugs at the age of 42.That's another reason I'm trying to stay clean. Write comments and hope you enjoy!
