Angelic Disguises

by Jenni Marie   Jan 24, 2007

People pretend to be happy
And they pretend to smile
They mask their sadness with laughter
But underneath they're full of guile.

You don't always know
What someone feels
Because so many hide their turmoil
And pretend that it's not real.

Hidden beneath the smiles
Are tears waiting to fall
So many people secretly dying
Instead of standing tall.

The world's just a puppet show
Fake smiles for both girls and guys
When really, everyone lives
In an angelic disguise.

Amazing title, and its so true so many people now a days are to scared to show themselves so they hide who they really are, I think that everyone of us is guilty of doing this at some point or another. Nice work, and amazing title, thats what grabbed me to this poem in the first place
