California Distance

by Francesca   Jan 26, 2007

Something inside of me was driven in my soul to write this tonight,
It's something about you again.
I wish I could hold you tight.

My head keeps spinning, my heart tries to continue to beat.
With you hundreds of miles away,
I realize why my life feels incomplete.

I haven't got a clue if your eyes will ever set upon this written poem,
but I don't care; I just write to tell you to come home.

If your home is me, like my soul is yours
we won't spend the rest of our young lives on separate sea shores.

Me to the north and you to the south,
I wish again for the day my lips could touch your mouth.

I know for now we will feel the pain,
Your notes remind me not to go insane.

The passion and love in my heart for you,
spills out everytime I must bid you adieu.

I never thought in my mind I would experience such longing,
But never in my life have I felt such belonging.

The sun always sets to the west,
and that's where we beat the rest.
You're just down the coast,
although it seems your soul has turned into a ghost.
Each night we stare up at the sky,
look at the same moon and wonder why.

No matter what the condition or length,
I know I'll always love you, because you've given me the strength.
